YOUTH CAFÉ, THE PODCAST
THE FINDING:
Following a new abstention record at the 2021 regionals (amounting to 65.7% in total and 79% among 18-34 year olds according to IPSOS). Youth's Horizon is embarking on a reconciliation project between the political, diplomatic and youth worlds.
Our young generations, abstentionists, no longer identify with the political world or at least show a growing lack of interest in the election of their representatives at national, regional, departmental and local level.
Therefore, we wish to provide reliable and precise answers to the underlying question: "Why do young people abstain?"
PROJECT PURPOSE:
Understand the stakes of this electoral abstention increasing exponentially over the years through the collection of information on the experience and conception of political life among our youth. In addition, combine "think & do" by exchanging with personalities from the political and diplomatic world; all with the aim of assimilating the plurality of points of view to build a reflection and a practical response to this problem.
OUR METHOD:
-
Analyze the status quo, age groups, social backgrounds and geographical areas marked by this lack of interest;
-
Build on the results of our survey on the participation of young people in elections in order to clarify the gray areas to be targeted;
-
Organize interviews and exchanges with various political personalities with various ideological orientations. This will allow them to respond to the causes highlighted by our study, while respecting the diversity of opinion.
PURPOSE :
Reconcile, emancipate and strengthen the links between young people and their representatives, in order to develop the political sphere within a conscious and committed society.
Meetings, dialogues and consensus are sine qua non conditions for achieving this objective.
Consequently, we would like to achieve, with the help of the data acquired and the interviews, the implementation of thoughtful and convincing public policies by making the dialogue between youth and public authorities more fluid.
