L'apprentissage et la lecture du français, que faire face aux constats ?

“My homeland is the French language,” said Albert Camus. However, if the richness of the French language allows individuals to communicate with ease, the spelling level of schoolchildren continues to decline. According to a study by the Ministry of National Education published in 2016, we find, for a dictation of 10 lines, a total of 18 errors, an increase of 8 errors since 1990. We are thus witnessing a decline in French linguistic knowledge, especially in grammar. This concerns adults and children alike. Seven years after this study, the health crisis comes into play and upsets the learning of students as well as that of high school, college and schoolchildren. Confinements and distance learning have considerably increased the time spent in front of a screen while decreasing the acquisition of the elementary bases of the youngest. Regarding companies, the Voltaire Project establishes an average of 10.73/20 for French employees, i.e. a drop of 6 points between 2010 and 2015.
