NOTE D'ACTUALITÉ - Juin 2022
Les élections législatives françaises
After the presidential election in April, the legislative elections will take place this year on 12 and 19 June. For people who cannot go to the polls, it is possible to make a power of attorney online up to a few days before the date of the election. During these elections, it will be a question of electing deputies to Parliament, who will each represent a constituency.
Since April 11, the day after the first round of the presidential election, politicians have also been talking about electing a Prime Minister in a “third round”. In fact, contrary to what is posted on social networks, we will not directly, or even indirectly, elect the Prime Minister on June 12 and 19. Indeed, the Prime Minister is appointed by the President, and not elected, even if his power is strongly subject to the parliamentary majority. In two paragraphs, we talked about elections, Parliament, MPs, and used barbaric acronyms. But what are these concepts? What does an MP do on a daily basis? And how is the political situation on the eve of the elections? In this new news note, Youth's Horizon proposes to answer all these questions, and try to shed some light on the situation.
