Exigences sociales et productivité : quel compromis entre les jeunes et les employeurs ?
On May 10, 2022, the founder of the start-up "D+ for Care" Claire DEspagne, sparked controversy after her interview for the podcast "Freedom of Entrepreneurship", in which she deplores "the disappearance of interns who refuse to work 80 hours per week. The magnitude of the reactions is commensurate with a current problem. Indeed, in the world of work, there is an opposition between the expectations of young people and the requirements of companies. The importance given to mental health and the balance between private and professional life makes them particularly sensitive and attentive to the conditions of their employment. Ecological issues also worry a large number of young people: some graduates of the Ecole Polytechnique have publicly questioned the companies through which they could be hired by refusing to "participate in a world they denounce", during their graduation ceremony. Graduation. They are not the only ones: a growing number of students, especially from the Grandes Ecoles, are following the trend. However, for companies there is a real difficulty in responding to this emphasis on the social dimension, through the constraint of productivity.
